Admissions Campaign Continues at the Medical Faculty for International Students

As of September 1, 2026, 15 foreign students had begun their studies at Grodno State Medical University and by mid-September the number of first-year students rose to 130. 

The geography of GrSMU students is very diverse: the majority is citizens of Sri Lanka, with others coming from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, the Maldives, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, the Congo, Zimbabwe and Iraq. A total of 11 groups have been formed, 10 of which are English-speaking.

Leaders of the National Unions helped students navigate the initial stages of moving into hostels, completing medical examination and fingerprinting. They also introduced them to the banking system and assisted with purchasing essential items. 

These were busy weeks that culminated in a large meeting for first-year students.

On September 1 and 11, new students met with the Dean’s office officials: Dean A.A. Stenko and Vice-deans L.N. Gushchyna and Z.N. Marchenko.

They were informed on internal regulations, the organization of the academic process and opportunities to develop their talents both in and out of class.
