English-speaking education in Grodno State Medical University was introduced in 2008 when the first students from India and Mauritius arrived. Every year their number increases.

- GrSMU Students from India have the opportunity to do their internships in their country; we also have an opportunity to collaborate on teaching between our countries. In the future we plan to move into the Indian market in terms of educational services and develop cooperation with new states. Now it is only the state of Gujarat, - said Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Students Alexander A. Stenko. - India is one of our strategic partners in terms of educational services, so we hope to continue cooperation and sign new agreements with universities in India.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Belarus Alok Ranjan Jha thanked the administration of the university for the warm welcome and noted that this was his first visit to the Medical University of Grodno. As the new head of the Indian diplomatic mission, he began his work six months ago.

- In our opinion, one of the promising directions of cooperation is enlargement of Indian students’ admission to GrSMU, as well as cooperation between medical universities of Belarus and India in general and in scientific research. These are just the first steps, and we definitely should follow this path.

The Ambassador's visit is an important event both for the university and for Indian students studying here. During interaction with Mr. Aloka Ranjan, they had an opportunity to ask questions and receive first-hand answers.
