On March 18-21, 2025 the final stage of International Students’ Olympiad in Emergency Medicine “Safety Zone” was held at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University.

120 teams from 8 countries of the world have participated at the Olympiad. GrSMU was represented by the team “CODE BLUE” consisting of 5-6 year students of the Faculty for International Students.

On the first day of the competition the teams presented themselves, and showed their theoretic knowledge and skills in different areas of intensive care.

The second day was a busy day – the students participated in 3 competitions. “First-Aid” and “Accident ward” were organized in the Attestation and Simulation Center of Sechenov University. The participants had to perform as real physicians in extreme circumstances: they were examining, diagnosing, and treating “patients”. The last competition of the second day – “Tactical Medicine” – was held at the Military Educational Center of the university. The participants of the Olympiad had to treat the injured in a simulation of the field conditions.

The third day of the Olympiad was full of events, too. There were three contests: “Rescue network”, “Practicum”, and “Emergency First Aid”, during which the skills of team work operating, diagnostics, manipulations and treatment of critical condition patients were tested.

As a result, “Code Blue” was highly esteemed by the organizing committee and awarded a title of “the Most Communicative Team”. We are proud to say, that our university’s team took the 17th place out of 120 contestants even though it was our very first try to take part in the international Olympiads. We’ve considered all the mistakes, got valuable experience and started to prepare for a next challenges.

Thank you, dear students for making us proud once again!
