- Every international student represents his or her country, culture, language, and the history of the nation and state. We’re trying to create all conditions for you to be able to tell everyone about your country, friends, and relatives and to find new friends here. Belarus is a hospitable country. We are going to hold the Festival of National Cultures again this year. We invite you to participate in it.
Alexander Stenko noted that there are all possibilities for getting knowledge and self-realization for foreign students in education, sport and other spheres in GrSMU:
- This year the student festival of national cultures of GrSMU celebrates its 20th anniversary. It is a kind of rehearsal for us before the Republican Festival of National Cultures, which will take place in early June and will allow foreign students to show their creative side and demonstrate the
uniqueness of their culture and traditions.
Events dedicated to the XX Student Festival of National Cultures-2022 and International Students' Faculty Days opened with festive performances by the faculty students. Representatives from Nigeria, the Maldives, India and Turkmenistan prepared creative performances.
On the first day, sports competitions for international students called "Sports for All" were held. Teams from India, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Turkmenistan, Nigeria as well as guests from the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno took part in it. The competition included a checkers, darts, tennis, and badminton. There was also held an amateur tournament of tic-tac-toe among students. Sports competitions traditionally attract a large number of students.
Nadezhda Mishonkova said that this year the program of the traditional Faculty Festival was extended. For example, competitions in soccer, basketball, volleyball and other competitive sports were held before the official start of the festival, and the creative numbers were shown at its opening.
- We used to have a special day devoted to the big creative kaleidoscope of performances. This year, however, it will be replaced by the celebration of Sri Lanka's big national holiday, the PULSE-22 New Year's Eve. The students have been looking forward to this holiday and have been preparing for it for a long time. The result will be a big concert that will show the cultural diversity of the peoples - Sinhalese, Tamil, Sri Lankan and others. Also this year we invited foreign students from
Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno - usually foreign students from GrSMU come to visit them.
