As a result of studying the discipline "Anesthesiology and Critical Care" the student should

- methods of pain management, indications and contraindications for analgesia and sedation, complications of anesthesia;
- diagnostics and emergency medical care in case of critical condition of the patient;
- principles of regulation and methods for the correction of hemodynamic, respiratory, metabolic disorders in critical and terminal conditions;
- principles of composition of infusion therapy and parenteral nutrition programs;
- main types of violations, assessment methods and principles of correction of fluid-electrolyte balance;
- main types of violations, assessment methods and principles of correction of acid-base condition;
- principles of the treatment of acute poisoning
be able to:
- manage the pain;
- measure central venous pressure;
- determine the deficit of water, electrolytes, disturbances in protein and carbohydrate metabolism, acid-base condition, hemoglobin and hematocrit and fix the disorders;
- determine the indications for mechanical ventilation;
- determine the indications for resuscitation and the criteria for its termination;
