INDEPENDENCE DAY IN TURKMENISTAN
On October 27, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic adopted the Constitutional Law "On the Independence and Foundations of the State Structure of Turkmenistan". This law proclaimed an independent democratic state of Turkmenistan within the borders of the territory of the Turkmen SSR. Since 2018, by decision of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, its celebration has been postponed to September 27.
On September 27, 2024, Turkmenistan celebrated the 33rd anniversary of Independence in a grand manner. This is a very significant day in the history of the Turkmen people. Many heads of state warmly congratulated the Turkmen people on the holiday. The national flag of Turkmenistan was designed on large buildings.
In Minsk, where the Embassy of the Republic of Turkmenistan is located, an exhibition was organized, which presented books, albums, photographs telling about the rich history and unique culture of the Turkmen people, the picturesque nature of the country and architectural monuments.
At our university, as part of the Day of the Faculty of International Students, Turkmen students took part in the design of an exhibition where they presented national clothing, literature, household items and folk art. The students introduced Belarusian students and guests of the exhibition to the culture of the Turkmen people, talked about how they gained independence and about friendship with the Republic of Belarus.
