The Conference of Students and Young Scientists «SCIENTIA INFINITA», the first of its kind in the Republic of Belarus, took place
The registration of the participants and guests of the Conference of Students and Young Scientists «SCIENTIA INFINITA», the first of its kind in the Republic of Belarus, took place.
The young scientists met the chairmen of sessions, as well as moderators.
The welcoming speech was given by Vice-rector for International Relations and Extrabudgetary Activities V.V. Varabyeu and Vice-rector for Research M.N. Kurbat: we are glad to provide new opportunities for international students undergoing their training in the Republic of Belarus and abroad, namely the opportunity to make the first steps in medical science.
The invited guest D.S. Kasatkin, Vice-rector for International Affairs from Yaroslavl, welcomed the guests, gave words of encouragement to the students and young scientists, and wished good luck to the organizers and participants of the conference.
The opening of the conference was concluded by Dean of the Medical Faculty for International Students A.A. Stenko, recalling the success achieved over the 30 years of the Faculty’s existence, as well as highlighting the activity of the Students’ society of the Faculty. The leaders of the Students’ society, in their turn, spoke about foreign students, the conference and sessions work plan, and invited the participants and guests to the following sessions: Surgery, Internal Medicine and Fundamental Medicine.
International Student Scientific and Practical Conference “SCIENTIA INFINITA”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Medical Faculty for International Students, was attended at three sessions by English-speaking students from universities of Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, as well as students representing Sri Lanka, India, Nigeria, Maldives and other countries.
In the session “Internal Medicine” the results of research on the treatment of psoriasis, infectious diseases, diseases of cardiovascular system, as well as endocrine, allergic and other diseases were discussed. The session “Surgery”, where discussions were held on the results of surgical treatment, was no less full of interesting reports. The same can be said about the session “Fundamental Medicine”, where the results of animal modeling were presented.
Based on the results of the conference, it is necessary to draw a conclusion about a high level of student science at Grodno State Medical University and the effective work of the Students’ Scientific Society of the Medical Faculty for International Students “Black Raven Club”.
A gift for the Faculty’s anniversary became the participation in the conference of a graduate of the Medical Faculty for International Students from Lebanon Khaissam Ismailovich Al-Abdallah, who graduated from GrSMU 30 years ago.
