Journey without Visas! Day of the Medical Faculty for International Students Took Place at GrSMU

The kaleidoscope of festive events marking the grand University Days Program at Grodno State Medical University continues to delight students and lecturers. Today, the traditional Day of the Medical Faculty for International Students served as a highlight of the broader Team Spirit and Friendship Day. International students invited all University workers to embark on an exciting “journey without visas”.

Students of the Medical Faculty for International Students prepared rich and diverse program. The centerpiece of the event was an interactive travel-themed tour titled “The Polyphony of Cultures”. Five National Unions, representing Africa, India, the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Multinational Union, demonstrated their unique cultures, transforming University locations into exotic destinations.

Upon arrival, each guest received a special traveler’s passport and set off along a route created by the international students.

“It is a true polyphony of cultures, where our National Unions present their traditions, prepare treats and host workshops. At each stop, guests learn about the culture of the respective National Union, answer quiz questions, play bingo and earn a stamp. Once guests have visited all the stops and collected five stamps, they can visit our international food court. It is a sort of a compliment for the true traveler,” explained Zoya Nikolaevna Marchenko, the Vice-dean for Extracurricular Activities of the Medical Faculty for International Students.

The route proved to be truly unique and colorful. At the various stops, the travelers, comprising the University administration, staff members and students from all faculties, could try on national costumes and jewelry, learn traditional dances, get temporary henna tattoos, test their general knowledge in mini-quizzes and chat with students from around the world.

The journey culminated at the international food court. Active participants who collected all five “visas” in their passports won the main prize – tasting of national dishes prepared by the students themselves.

The Day of the Medical Faculty for International Students served as a vibrant and unifying highlight of the University Days Program. It once again proved that friendship, team spirit and mutual understanding know no borders!
